The central coast of California seems to have a little of everything—dramatic seascapes and landscapes, wildlife, charming cities, local art and music, and of course wine-tastings.

Monarch Butterfly, Pismo Beach. Last year there were over 16,000 butterflies. This year 197. The cocoons were destroyed by extreme climate. I was devastated. See my wildlife gallery for this same spot during my previous visit.
